Pipe Weight Calculator

Pipe Weight Calculator

Calculate the approximate weight and cost of round pipes based on outer diameter, wall thickness and length.

Steel Profiles Database (full structural data)

Approximate dimensions based on typical catalogue series — verify against a specific supplier's catalogue before ordering.

The result is approximate — verify against the actual material specification before purchase.

Material density

Reference values used in the calculator. Actual density may vary slightly depending on grade and alloy — check the material certificate if in doubt.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this calculator?

The result is an approximate value calculated from the dimensions you enter and the theoretical density of the material. Actual weight may vary slightly due to dimensional tolerances, alloy grade, or rounded edges (e.g. on angles and channels). Before ordering a large batch, verify the result against the manufacturer's certificate or standard.

Where can I find the density if my alloy isn't on the list?

Select "Other (custom density)" in the Material field and enter the value in kg/m³ from the material datasheet or supplier's certificate. The calculator computes the weight exactly the same way as for materials on the list.

Why are angles and channels calculated with a simplified formula?

The calculator ignores the corner radii typical of hot-rolled profiles, treating the cross-section as rectangles of constant wall thickness. This is a standard simplification for this type of tool — the difference from the manufacturer's standard is usually a few percent.

Can I calculate several different elements at once?

The calculator computes one shape at a time, but the "Quantity" field lets you multiply the result by the number of identical elements straight away — useful for pricing a batch of the same profile.

Is the total cost shown a commercial offer?

No — it is only an estimate based on the price per kilogram you enter, without cutting, transport or margin costs. Contact us directly for an accurate material quote.
